Why Maintenance Tracking Breaks Down

Most fleets we talked to were running on some mix of a paper logbook, a shared spreadsheet, and whatever the previous owner scrawled on a sticker in the engine bay. That works until the person who knows the schedule is on vacation, or the spreadsheet gets edited on two phones at once, or a sticker gets replaced and the history with it. None of those failures show up until a part goes past due and nobody notices in time.
